Stephanie Kilpatrick, PsyD

Clinical Director

I’m trained as a clinical psychologist, specializing in supporting individuals and families impacted by trauma, abuse, and neglect. Through direct and detailed exploration of past events, I work to help clients confront the difficult emotions tied to these experiences, aiming to decrease long-term effects such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

As clinical director of a specialty clinic addressing trauma, I assist clients of all ages, including survivors of sexual assault, racism, discrimination, domestic violence, childhood abuse, sudden loss, and more through a trauma centered approach.

My style is one of deep listening, with professional interests in well-researched and evidence-based practices.

Senior Clinician

I specialize in working with individuals, couples and families who have been impacted by trauma, abuse and neglect. I recognize that trauma profoundly impacts the body and can affect our overall health, often leading to tension, pain, anxiety, depression, or dissociation. Through somatic techniques, drama therapy, and movement therapy, I help clients reconnect with their bodies and facilitate healing on multiple levels

I love supporting my clients find meaningful, aesthetic, and playful ways to explore painful, dark and traumatic experiences. We all need a place to cry, as well as laugh about our experiences and not be shamed, silenced, or judged for how trauma impacts us and how we choose to heal from it.

As a therapist my style is both warm and direct. We would work well together if you like a being held while also being challenged.

My training includes a masters in Counseling Psychology with a focus in body based practices including Movement, Art, Somatics and Drama Therapy.

Healing happens in relationship, at a pace that honors your nervous system, your story, and your capacity in each moment.

I am a trauma-centered therapist who works from a direct, warm, and relational approach. I meet people where they are and support healing in ways that feel meaningful and true to their lived experience. I work with individuals across the lifespan who have lived through many forms of trauma and chronic stress, including abuse and neglect, motor vehicle and workplace injuries, and high-stress professional environments such as first responders and military service. I have also spent many years providing specialized counseling and outreach support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Alzheimer’s/Dementia, and Intellectual Disability.

My work is grounded in trauma-centered psychotherapy and guided by an understanding that trauma lives in both the mind and the body. While talk therapy is an important part of the process, it is not always enough on its own. When appropriate and aligned with a client’s goals, I integrate somatic and creative arts–based interventions—such as movement, imagery, music, or visual expression—to offer additional ways of listening, processing, and regulating. This work is always invitational and choice-based, meant to deepen the therapeutic process rather than replace it.

I am deeply committed to helping clients build self-awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of agency. I strive to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, collaborative, and attuned—one where clients can move at their own pace and explore their experiences with curiosity, care, and respect.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) and a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT). I earned my master’s degree from Columbia College Chicago and am a certified Ways of Seeing practitioner, with specialized training in infant, child, and family dance/movement psychotherapy. I have completed my certification in Creative Arts & Trauma Treatment through the KINT Institute in New York City.

If you’re considering therapy, you don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan. You’re welcome to come as you are. Together, we can gently explore what’s been carried, what’s asking for attention, and what support might look like for you right now.

Business Office Manager

I’ve always been drawn to spaces where healing is the focus, and working here allows me to support that process behind the scenes in a meaningful way. I appreciate being part of a team that values not just the clients we serve, but each other as colleagues.

There’s a deep sense of integrity and purpose in the work we do, and I feel proud to help hold the container that makes that work possible. Every day, I get to witness small moments of connection and care that remind me why I chose to be in this field. It’s more than just a job — it feels like a calling.
